Government of Kerala envisaged implementing a standardized e-Procurement system(G.O.(Ms.)31-2009-ITD), in line with IT Policy, 2007, to automate and connect all the activities involved in Government Procurement. The Pilot implementation was initiated in the year 2011 vide (G.O.(P.)72-2011-PWD), and implemented in all departments and PSUs in the year 2012 vide (G.O.(MS.)18-2012-ITD). It provides a pioneering, cost-saving, and efficient method for ensuring greater transparency in statewide procurement information, which will ultimately lead to increased effectiveness and accountability. Growth of emerged technologies and socio economic development within the State has made a notable impact in e-Procurement system. e-Procurement is thus one of the rapidly growing areas of e-Government implementations in Kerala.

The e-Procurement System provides various facilities like vendor/ supplier management, indent management, e-tendering, contract management, catalogue management, e-payments, management information system etc.
