Computer Emergency Response Team, Kerala (CERT-K)

In order to provide State-wide cyber security capability and to ensure safety and security while using Information Communication Technology (ICT), Government of Kerala has set up Computer Emergency Response Team in Kerala on 3rd April 2010, vide (G.O.(Ms.)15/2010/ITD). The launch of CERT-K was a milestone in the development of the state’s cyber security capabilities helping the Government to become more resilient. This added a sense of security also helped build trust in e-Governance Services.

Activities of CERT-K

  • Security Auditing and certification of services and applications for hosting in Data Centre.

  • Identify and limit the impact of cyber threats, vulnerabilities and security breaches

  • State cyber security incident management

  • Support to critical State infrastructure agencies to handle cyber security incidents

  • Promoting cyber security situational awareness across the State by initiating proactive security measures

  • Acts as the single State point of contact for co-ordination and collaboration of all cyber security related activities

  • To certify any e- Governance or e-Commerce applications of the State

  • Develop state's crisis management plan and implement the same in coordination with CERT-India

As per the direction of CERT-IN, MEITY, GOI vide Letter NO. 3(15)/2004/CERT-In (Vol-IX), dated 15-02-2018, Government of Kerala has also taken steps to publish the list of empaneled IT Security Auditing Organisations.
