Government of Kerala has established "Virtual IT Cadre" for the state (G.O.(Rt.)5-2015-ITD). This "Virtual IT Cadre" acts as the strong in-house team to conceptualize, implement and manage e-Governance projects within the state government.
In order to manage the complexities in implementing e- Governance project, a strong IT in-house team within departments was required. The Virtual IT Cadre was deployed with this intention and was formed through internal selection from skilled & qualified employees within departments. The team manages the project implementation with the support from Department of Information Technology & Kerala State IT Mission.
"This project seeks to lay the groundwork for the formation of effective team for driving e-Governance projects within various departments in the state. This is proposed to be achieved through internal nomination of personnel from within the department, followed by capacity building through focused training programs, inter alia empowering the cadre members to effectively perform their roles and responsibilities."
