The State of Kerala has always been working towards adoption and application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) be it the services/support to its citizens or enabling smoother functioning of the business community. Government has taken various initiatives over the years to enable the state to towards implementing ICT projects and to become the pioneer in e-Governance activities.
The Electronic and Information Technology (E&IT) Department has been setup and is working to put technology to its highest level and best use throughout the Government Departments and Autonomous Bodies in the State and to improve the administration of State programmes and services. The department also provides guidance on technical matters to Departments, vetting IT projects and leading the department to achieve the goals are the basic activities of Department of E&IT. The State has been successful in creating robust platforms for Electronics Delivery of Service through the common infrastructure.
